Head of Technical Writers

Job Responsibilities
 
  • Prepare reports for Head of Department
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure the department is functional
  • Supervise and motivate staff to perform their best
  • Evaluate employee performance and identify hiring and training needs
  • Actualize current documents and follow up those are up-to-date
  • Create and maintain the information architecture, creating documents such as Tech Specs, Quick References, User Guides and User Manuals
  • Organize, plan, coordinate and supervise activities of the department
  • Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
  • Create tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications
  • Make all necessary edits in provided technical standards written by the team members
  • Write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help and developer guides
  • Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience
  • Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements

 

Job Requirements

 

  • Experience with web technologies is a plus
  • Good communication skills
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
  • Good understanding of software development life cycle
  • Knowledge of MS Office
  • IELTS certification with at least 5-6 credit points
  • Excellent knowledge of English language 
  • Knowledge of modern management techniques and best practices
  • At least 3 years of work experience in technical writing of software documentation
  • Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, additional education in Computer Science or Engineering is preferable
